Presentation Title Contribute to the Popular Spread of Maritime-Underwater Cultural Heritage through Exhibitions and Education using Digital Techniques in Maritime Museums
Abstract

Before the pandemic, digital technology in maritime museums began to be used only in part of exhibitions and education. The government had to find a way to continuously provide newly discovered and researched maritime cultural heritage to visitors and students who cannot visit maritime museums due to the pandemic. The easiest way was to provide the museum's existing maritime cultural heritage online so that it could be found and enjoyed. For this purpose, the priority was to process existing digital information into new digital content. The newly created digital content was provided by opening an online museum through collaboration with a portal site and was secondarily linked through YouTube and social media. As the pandemic stabilizes, new exhibition techniques and educational methods are needed to encourage visitors and students who have become too accustomed to digital content to return to museums. This was a turning point when new technologies began to be rapidly introduced into museums by spreading knowledge and experience of maritime cultural heritage through VR and other methods. After the pandemic was completely over, it was established as a museum where traditional and digital exhibition techniques coexist and was reborn as a space where maritime cultural heritage can be enjoyed by children and adults, regardless of age. The experience and know-how gained in countries that have experienced rapid digital change, such as Korea, should be shared with countries that are facing change to determine what they should accept and what they should be cautious about. Through this, museum policies should be established so that all mankind can properly utilize and enjoy cultural heritage.
