Presentation Title Contemporary Challenges and Innovative Practices in Museums Case Study Flooding Management Plan for the Royal Barges National Museum
Abstract

The Royal Barges National Museum faces annual flooding challenges with its exhibition building along the Bangkok Noi Canal.  These issues pose ongoing difficulties for the museum's curators and staff in preparing for and managing inevitable situations and consequences. Given the museum's context and limitations, how can the immediate impacts of these emergency situations be mitigated to protect the royal barge artworks? What future plans and approaches are being considered to handle such situations? The flood management plan for the Royal Barges National Museum has been developed to review and implement procedures and guidelines for the museum's staff. This plan also serves as a valuable lesson and case study for the Royal Barges National Museum and other national museums under the Fine Arts Department. It aims to foster an exchange of experiences among practitioners, experts, and qualified professionals. The recommendations received will be beneficial in improving and enhancing the plan's effectiveness.
