The presentation explores a participatory approach to interpreting living cultures for community development and cultural preservation. It focuses on the roles of various stakeholders, emphasizing the cultural community as primary beneficiaries. Highlighting community-based tourism, it examines how traditional cultural practices and spaces serve as key resources. Two recent projects in Gia Lai and Thua Thien Hue provinces are presented as case studies, illustrating the effectiveness and sustainability of bottom-up approaches in the Vietnamese context.
